The short answer

Use the first month to create a clean operating foundation: preserve the accepted filing, finish the operating agreement, obtain the appropriate tax identification, separate money, establish books, map licenses, review insurance, and create the permanent company record.

Week 1: preserve and approve

Save the accepted state filing and receipt, execute the operating agreement, approve initial actions, record contributions, and confirm the registered agent and official addresses.

Week 2: tax identity and banking

Apply for an EIN through the IRS when needed, then open a business account and establish who can transact. The official EIN is free.

Week 3: books and obligations

Choose the accounting workflow, define expense reimbursement, identify federal and state tax accounts, and map licenses and permits by activity and location.

Week 4: contracts, risk, and calendar

Set signature rules, review insurance, create a compliance calendar, and schedule the first monthly and quarterly company reviews.
